Homemade sausage rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet rolled puff pastry
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 4 thin beef sausages (choose lean varieties)
  • 2 teaspoon stale wholemeal breadcrumbs

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180° C
  2. Cut pastry sheet in half and brush with half of the milk
  3. Place the sausages end to end along the centre of the pastry and trim to fit the pastry
  4. Roll pastry to enclose the sausages
  5. Place seam down on a greased oven tray
  6. Brush with the remaining milk and sprinkle with breadcrumbs
  7. Bake in a moderate oven for approximately 15 mins or until browned
  8. Cut each roll into 5 diagonal pieces and serve with tomato sauce
