Homemade sausage rolls
Makes 10
Ingredients
- 1 sheet rolled puff pastry
- 1 teaspoon milk
- 4 thin beef sausages (choose lean varieties)
- 2 teaspoon stale wholemeal breadcrumbs
Method
- Preheat oven to 180° C
- Cut pastry sheet in half and brush with half of the milk
- Place the sausages end to end along the centre of the pastry and trim to fit the pastry
- Roll pastry to enclose the sausages
- Place seam down on a greased oven tray
- Brush with the remaining milk and sprinkle with breadcrumbs
- Bake in a moderate oven for approximately 15 mins or until browned
- Cut each roll into 5 diagonal pieces and serve with tomato sauce
